Natural Resource Conflict Transformation Center-Nepal has successfully accomplished two days (10 and 11 August, 2020) online orientation program on Sustainable Development Goals. The program was executed through zoom video conference in the facilitation of Mr. Jitram Lama, Chairperson of NGO Federation of Nepal and Mr. Arjun Bhattarai, Deputy Secretary General of NGO Federation of Nepal. There was active participation of 60 peace campaigners from NRCTC-N.
Almost all of the major topics and issues under Sustainable Development Goals were presented in participatory way. Major topics included in the program were, review on MDGs and SDGs, global and national indicators on SDGs, SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, SDG implementation status in Nepal, Localization of SDGs in Nepal, Role of CSOs on SDG implementation, Nepal SDG Forum, Information and Process of High Level Political Forum (HLPF) and Voluntary National Review (VNR). We also got an opportunity to share valuable time of National Planning Commission member, Mr. Min Bahadur Shahi, he is also the focal person of SDG implementation in Nepal. Mr. Shahi shared about current status of SDG implementation in Nepal and its way forward.
