Mr. Kedar Dahal, District Forest Officer, Sarlahi Published date: 25 June, 2014
When I was transferred to Sarlahi District as a District Forest Officer, conflict facilitators from NRCTC-N were working on gathering perspectives on process proposal in the conflict Regarding Overlapping of Forest Boundary among Harihar Chhetra, Nilkamal and Komendro CFUG. When they came to talk to me about the conflict transformation program for the very first time, I thought that this conflict transformation program will not be successful in resolving the conflict and I told them that the conflict is in the boundary but you were wasting time in office meetings, what you should do is to meet people at the boundary. But when they came to me again and again, they briefed me about the various steps of conflict transformation process and I understood the process very well and realized that it is the best practice for transforming any kind of conflicts. I am very much impressed by this process and I am committed to provide necessary support needed from me. Nowadays I recommend everyone to follow conflict transformation process in solving any kind of conflict and in our forest office too we are following this process to resolve the forest related conflict cases brought to our doorstep.
